What the buyer got:-
The description for this camera clearly stated that it had a film plane lens and that the camera is in good working order. The seller included the original and a translation into German the notes from the web page at www.submin.com/8x11/collection/minox on the AII and provided links.
Firstly the reason the camera is shown with the aperture open is that the shutter blade is broken inside the camera. It is not on the T setting to show the lens. When the shutter is released the second shutter blade closes it. This blade is silver. The description says it should be black.
When the filters are used they automatically retract when the camera is closed. The description says they do not automatically retract.
The locking pin is aluminium not steel.
Inside the sliding cover should be lacquered black (as in the Riga-Minox) but is not.
Teeth of the film take up "claw" are sharp and not flat on top as stated in the description.
Auxiliary hole in the film chamber is covered by a slot-screw not a two hole screw.
Blades in black, front with a bright dot are in fact silver with one broken off, no bright dot or otherwise shows.
The seller refused to refund the money claiming that the camera has a film-lens (if does not) and that it is not broken when it clearly is. Communications were in German.
The seller is petravorgeitz@aol.com and had Ebay User ID: petravorgeitz, Petra Vorgeitz, Grenzstr.47, 86391 Stadtbergen, Germany.
Ebay wrote to the seller who ignored the complaint and did not respond. Further action required an independent account of the condition of the camera and for some return of costs conditions could not be met as no credit card was used.
Feedback:: Betrüger, Lügner, Dieb, Fälscher, kaputte Minox A ohne Filmlinse, keine Rückerstattung.
