After seventeen years in production the leader among subminiature cameras the LX, received a new look. Designated Minox TLX and available since summer 1995, in time for their 50th Anniversary that autumn has an anodized titanium body, black focusing scales and a black brand-name signature. This masterpiece of camera technology is hand-assembled out of 275 components.
Winner of the International Design Award of the Federal German State of Baden-Wurttemburg 1996/97 the introduction of this titanium body also saw the last of the brushed matt aluminium and black LX's; although the spare parts available mean that special orders where still possible.
All TLX cameras have the black MINOX logo on the front of the camera, like the USA version of the LX. This makes the camera more conspicuous and unfortunately the print wears off in time.

To celebrate the anniversary of the Minox, in 1998, a special limited silver chrome version of the TLX was manufactured.
A continuation of the LX. The camera is its chrome-plated and highly polished. The back is engraved with the signature of Walter Zapp and icons of the Minox A and the Minox LX. The body is brass and so the camera feels more solid than the lighter LX and TLX cameras; very much like a gold LX.
The wooden presentation box is accompanied by a VHS video tape (versions are available in PAL (in English and German) and NTSC) of the life of Walter Zapp, a chrome plated chain and a case based upon the style of those supplied with the Minox A and B.

To celebrate the year 2000 Minox produced the special LX Millennium edition in black eloxat coating with 24 carat gold-plated dials and trim. The presentation set was accompanied by a Montblanc fountain pen in the same finish, an every-ready case and gold chain.
Although black this is no 'private eye' edition with it's brass body, gold MINOX logo and gold viewer trim; it is a positive statement of functional elegance and extravagance.
For the Christmas of 2001 Minox produced the Aviator set. A black TLX with luminous numbers on the dials, a white MINOX logo and a Laco 1950s style self winding Swiss jewelled watch.
