All metal camera with coupled CdS with readout on top. Rollei-Compur shutter 2-500,B. Black or chrome. Made in Germany or Singapore. Carl Zeiss Tessar or Rollei Tessar f3.5 40mm. Size 97x32x60mm 370g.
The camera was made in Germany from 1966 until the end of 1971 when production moved to Singapore. The first 8000 (Prochnow, Rollei Report, but seem to be far less) of these cameras made from 1966 until March 1968 where engraved "Made in Germany by Rollei Compur Gossen Zeiss". This was changed to "Made in Germany by Rollei". The release catch to remove the back of the camera was also changed.

Made in Singapore cameras came with hand strap and a leatherette soft case. Only the German made Rollei 35 came with a real leather case. They where packaged in a beige box, later a silver box with multi language manual.
About 185,000 Rollei 35 cameras where manufactured in Singapore from June 1971 until August 1974 in the range 3.312.000 - 3.499.999
