The CD70 was launched at the 1996 Photokina, along side the CD112. Owing it design more to the AF-mini than to other Minox cameras  

The CD70 offers

• autofocus,
• automatic exposure with manual override for backlit subjects
• 35-70mm Minoctar zoom lens controlled by a switch on the front of the body
• six elements in five groups and a macro setting with close focusing to 60cm (2ft).
• built in flash offers automatic fill-in in poor light, pre-flash reduces red eye and can be manually switched off for longer exposures.
